Goal Planning for the New Year

2019 Goal Planning

Create the Year That You Want

By Kirby Shields

With a new year just around the corner, it is time to start thinking about what you want your 2019 to look like. Do you have goals for this year? Do you know how to achieve those goals? Not sure where to start? Check out these goal setting tips below and be on your way to the most successful year you’ve ever had!

  1. Create your goal

  • Did you hit a goal this year and want to exceed it next year?

  • Is there something you always wanted to do, but haven’t?

  • Do you want to make a dance team, but never thought you could?

  • Starting a business? Where do you want the business to be by this time next year?

  • Whatever your goal is, make sure it is measurable so that you can keep track of it

  1. How Will You Obtain That Goal?

  • Now that you have your goal – write it down

  • Underneath your goal write at least 5 tasks that will propel you to hit that goal

  • Figure out how often these tasks will occur (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.)

Ex. If you want to make a dance team, you will need to study the team, take extra lessons once or twice a week, learn a certain trick or dance step, get in touch with the team & schedule your audition

  1. Put Your Plan into Action

  • Setup your tasks in advance so that you are planning ahead - this way you are more likely to complete the necessary tasks

  • Make a checklist of your tasks so that you can check them off as you go

Goal setting is great, but make sure you are tracking those goals so that you can measure them!

Wishing you a successful and happy 2019!
